ASTRAIOS Webinar Series Kicks off on February 7!

The ASTRAIOS project is pleased to announce the organization of a series of webinars hosted within the EASN Research Webinar Series.

The first ASTRAIOS webinar features an insightful presentation titled “GeoXR: Its Characteristics and Uses” and is scheduled for February 7, 2025, at 14:00 CET.

About the Webinar

Presented by P. Raposo, Assistant Professor of Geovisualization at the GIP Department, Faculty ITC, University of Twente, the session will highlight how GeoXR enhances interaction with geospatial data. Since both XR and geography share inherently spatial characteristics, this integration enables 3D, immersive cartography, interactive data visualization, and natural interaction using hand gestures and embodied movement.

The webinar will cover:

  • The fundamental characteristics of GeoXR technology

  • Present and future applications in geospatial sciences

  • The skills and resources required for engaging with GeoXR technologies

  • Case studies from Faculty ITC, University of Twente
